The Android Tablet Wave Is Starting to Crest

Given Google's Android OS is open-source, it's extremely enticing to device manufacturers. Slowly making their way onto the market, there are literally dozens of new tablet-like devices slated for release between now and Christmas running Android. Will they be able to stand along side Apple's iPad? This remains to be seen.

Here's a few devices that look quite promising:

We Tab (Formally We Pad)

This device comes out of Germany and sports a 11.6" touch screen. It also supports a number of app formats besides Android, such as Java, Flash, and Adobe AIR.

ICD Vega

Sporting a whopping 15.6" display, this device also comes with a magnetic display mount.

Viliv x10
Not currently on the market, this tablet clearly has been optimized for its gaming potential. Here's a review and screen shots from AndroidPads.com.

The big question will be, which ones will make it to the large retail outlets. Expect to see a lot more buzz about Android-enabled tablets in the upcoming months.
